Found this beautiful sunrise while hiking the Pacific Crest Trail last weekend

I woke up at 4:30 AM to make it to this ridge by dawn, and it was 100% worth it. The air was completely still, and the light started creeping over the mountains around 6:15 AM. Took this shot just as the first rays hit the valley below.

There’s something surreal about being up that high, completely alone, watching the world wake up. I’ve done a few long hikes before, but moments like this keep pulling me back.

If you’ve never tried an early morning hike, I highly recommend it. Bring a thermos of coffee, wear layers, and just enjoy the silence.
